Blockchain and Web 3 innovation is now the new game. Uniswap- one of the top decentralized exchanges operating in the Defi space launched version 3.0 of its protocol. Uniswap v3 allows liquidity providers to concentrate their capital in custom price ranges.
V3 makes it easy for users to provide liquidity in a concentrated manner so that they can gain high returns out of their liquidity by maintaining the liquidity in a concentrated range. This provides users to have more control over their liquidity as now they can set ranges according to the market, unlike version 2 where liquidity spread was over the entire price curve 0 - infinity.
There is no denying the fact that the concept of ‘Concentrated Liquidity’ promises more enticing returns to liquidity providers than the previous version of the protocol.
However, “there is no such thing as free lunch”, to achieve these attractive returns liquidity providers have to constantly oversee and re-adjust their positions every time the active price falls out of the concentrated liquidity range. The readjustment not only requires constant manual oversight but also involves high transaction costs and with regular price fluctuations in the market, liquidity providers will still have to lock large amounts of capital to keep earning fees.
Unipilot saves liquidity providers from the hassle of manual oversight through automated liquidity optimization and management The aim of the Pilot protocol is to ensure maximum capital efficiency by allocating the right mix of capital to each of Uniswap’s liquidity pools existing on its platform.
The challenge with concentrated liquidity is keeping it in the active price range so that it consistently earns fees through trades. The more time the capital is locked in the active price range the more trading fees it earns.
If the price fluctuates and capital goes out of the price range it does not earn any fees. Unipilot solves this problem by allocating capital to the narrowest price range to earn the maximum amount of fees. Even minor optimizations in price ranges can impose drastic changes in terms of capital efficiency.

Our first step was to gather as many requirements as we can, because this project was one of its kind we took the modular approach, we started our journey by arranging meetings with the stakeholders but at that time they were also not sure about the functionalities and complications this will have but we took the most out of it and started looking other platforms that can help us to understand the basics and matched it with the requirements we gained from stakeholder and started to map out what can be the best way to go with.
As we have to produce an MVP to be one of the first movers in the market we decided to go with the most important design processes approach to stay ahead of the game and can still provide a good and necessary user experience to Pilot users. As we had a short deadline and our main focus was to grab as many users' attention while providing a great user experience. Blockchain and Defi app designs are always complicated to handle but this is what we are experts in. We kicked start and created an action plan for this based on the requirements we have gathered and based on our previous knowledge of Defi applications.
Being one of the first movers in the market gives you an edge, and in this case, that’s what UnipIlot was trying to achieve. However, there were the following competitors
Brief research was done by us on the competitors of Unipilot, to understand and analyze what can we do better in Unipilot.
For this unique project, the approach was to make a rapid design with which we can dive into the market. All the relevant information was gathered from different resources that include different Defi applications, but to keep our design up to date we researched different liquidity providing and Defi apps, how they manage their user flow, user retention rate better user experience, and user accessibility. Potential User-based for Unipilot was easy to determine as it was already building over an existing platform “Uniswap”, we knew that the majority of users will be liquidity providers that don’t want the hassle of rebasing their liquidity on Uniswap and wants to gain high returns so we categories our potential user-base into following categories
Our second step was to map the user flow diagram so that we can see the whole picture in front of our eyes. It was an iterative step, we tried out multiple users flows to come up with something that covers users' needs and better user experience.
